Ghebreyesus: Number of forcibly displaced in Haiti nears 1.3 million
Geneva, August 22 (Hibya) – Due to violence and instability, about 1.3 million people in Haiti have been forced to leave their homes.
According to WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the number of suspected cholera cases in the country continues to decline. However, the risk of an outbreak has not yet been completely eliminated.
The WHO and the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) continue to support efforts to fight the epidemic and humanitarian aid initiatives.
