UNRWA Commissioner-General Lazzarini noted that people in Gaza have been constantly displaced to escape death, losing everything, and stressed that they need everything, but very little is reaching Gaza.

He pointed to falling temperatures and the onset of rain, saying: "There are no safe shelters, blankets, or warm clothes for people to get some respite. There is no heating, and the last resort to stay warm is burning plastic."

Lazzarini added that winter in Gaza means that people will not only die from airstrikes, diseases, or hunger, but also from the cold, especially the most vulnerable such as children and the elderly. "Willpower, leadership, and courage can bring back a piece of humanity," he said.
