Brussels, November 22 (Hibya) – European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced that Bulgaria and Romania are fully integrated into the Schengen Area, with only the European Council's official decision remaining.

She stated that the removal of internal land border controls is the final hurdle and added: "I am pleased with the positive outcome of the informal talks held today in Budapest. The next step is the European Council's official decision. In 2025, Schengen will become even stronger."
