Macron: I welcome the peace agreement signed between Congo and Rwanda
Paris, December 5 (Hibya) – French President Emmanuel Macron said he warmly welcomes the peace agreement signed in Washington between the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and Rwanda.
French President Emmanuel Macron stated that he welcomes with great satisfaction the peace agreement signed in Washington between the DRC and Rwanda.
In his statement, President Macron emphasized that the diplomatic efforts of Togo, acting as an African Union mediator, along with those of the United States and Qatar, played a key role in achieving the agreement.
“I call on everyone to honor their commitments for lasting peace for the people of eastern DRC and the Great Lakes region,” Macron said, stressing that France will remain firmly committed to this goal, consistent with the stance it demonstrated at the conference it hosted in Paris on October 30.
