Plenkovic: We support electoral reform in Bosnia and Herzegovina
Zagreb, June 9 (Hibya) - Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic assessed current political developments during a meeting of the Presidency and National Committee of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ).
Plenkovic referred to his meeting in Sarajevo with Borjana Krišto, Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and to the signing of an agreement on opening new border crossings between the two countries. He stated that this step would contribute to strengthening transport links and increasing economic cooperation between Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Plenkovic stressed that they strongly support reforming Bosnia and Herzegovina’s electoral legislation, emphasizing that it is important for the equal participation of Croats in political processes as a constituent people and for their legitimate representation at all levels of government.
Plenkovic also noted that he attended the European Union–Western Balkans Summit in Montenegro, where he met with representatives of the Croatian minority and Montenegrin Prime Minister Milojko Spajić. He stated that resolving outstanding issues between the two countries is important for completing Montenegro’s European Union accession negotiations and emphasized that Croatia continues to strongly support the EU accession process of Southeast European countries.
