Statement by Islamic countries on Jerusalem and Somalia
Several countries, including the Republic of Türkiye, condemned attempts targeting the status of Jerusalem and measures affecting Somalia’s territorial integrity in a joint statement.
The State of Palestine, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan, the Republic of Türkiye, and several Islamic countries issued a joint statement by foreign ministers.
The statement described the attempt to open a so-called “embassy” in occupied Jerusalem as a violation of international law and strongly condemned it.
The ministers emphasized that East Jerusalem has been under occupation since 1967 and that any unilateral steps to change its legal and historical status are “null and void”.
The statement also expressed full support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Federal Republic of Somalia.
