According to the UN, indigenous peoples continue to face overwhelming exclusion, discrimination, and marginalization.
A statement from the United Nations stated, "Representatives of these communities come together annually at the UN Headquarters to accelerate actions to protect their rights and cooperate in finding solutions for a better future."
