Vatican reports improvement in Pope's health condition
Rome, February 27 (Hibya) – According to a statement from the Vatican press service released this morning, the health condition of Pope Francis, who is receiving treatment at Agostino Gemelli Hospital in Rome, has improved as confirmed by laboratory tests.
The Vatican press service stated this morning: "The Pope slept well last night and is now resting".
It was previously reported that the mild kidney failure he had experienced in recent days had improved and that he no longer had breathing problems. However, he is still undergoing high-flow oxygen therapy.
Blood tests and a chest CT scan conducted the previous night also confirmed the improvement in his health.
The Pope was diagnosed with bronchitis in January. Due to the chronic nature of the illness, he was hospitalized at Agostino Gemelli Clinic in Rome on February 14. After X-rays and laboratory tests, bilateral pneumonia was also diagnosed.
Pope Francis is 88 years old.
