Ghebreyesus stated that one year has passed since the major political change in Syria, and during this period health workers have continued their efforts to restore services, rebuild public trust, and place human dignity at the center of care.

He noted that in 2025, the WHO, together with national partners, provided 367,000 trauma consultations, 574,000 outpatient examinations, and 171,000 mental health consultations, and coordinated 730 aid convoys.

Ghebreyesus added that the organization delivered 780 tons of medical supplies, trained 2,400 health workers, and supported the implementation of 1.26 million medical procedures.

“From maintaining the operations of hospitals and clinics to preparedness and surveillance efforts, and strengthening essential services, we are committed to working with the Ministry of Health and all health workers to build a healthier future for everyone across Syria,” he said.
