2026 Chongqing International Animation Film Week Begins
The 2026 Chongqing International Animation Film Week officially opened last night with a ceremony in Chongqing, China. The event is a comprehensive and professional animation film festival with both national and international participation.
At the opening ceremony, officials from countries including Brazil, Cambodia, Bangladesh, Myanmar, and Seychelles attended, along with executives from broadcasting organizations and news agencies from various countries, representatives of international animation industry associations, executives from domestic and overseas film, television, and technology companies, as well as renowned animation directors and producers.
A total of 501 animation works from 18 countries and regions, including China, the United States, France, the United Kingdom, Russia, Australia, and Brazil, are competing for the “Jinshan Cup” honor. The awards program consists of 10 awards across four categories. The jury is chaired by Rob Minkoff, director of “The Lion King.” As part of the event, 38 outstanding Chinese and international animated films have been screened. The winners will be announced at the closing ceremony on the evening of June 12.
The Film Week is organized under the guidance of China Media Group (CMG) and the Chongqing Municipal People’s Government.
The Film Week will continue until June 13.
