According to a statement from the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Sani held a phone conversation on Monday with Dr. Abbas Araghchi, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The statement said: "The discussion covered ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation, the latest developments in the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories, as well as issues of mutual interest. The Prime Minister and Foreign Minister reiterated that the State of Qatar welcomes the agreement to move to the next stage of negotiations between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran, which aims to reach a fair, lasting, and binding agreement that would enhance security, stability, and peace in the region, and open new horizons for regional cooperation and dialogue."
