President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met with a delegation led by Caleb Orr, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Economy, Energy and Business Affairs at the U.S. Department of State.

During the meeting, President Ilham Aliyev thanked Caleb Orr for attending the official opening ceremony of the exhibitions held within the framework of Baku Energy Week and the Baku Energy Forum. Aliyev expressed his satisfaction that U.S. President Donald Trump had sent a letter to the event, noting that this approach and partnership were appreciated, and conveyed his thanks to the U.S. President.

President Aliyev stated that relations between the two countries had developed successfully in recent times and emphasized the importance of the Strategic Partnership Agreement signed between Azerbaijan and the United States.

Aliyev noted that working groups had been established to advance cooperation in various fields on the basis of this agreement and stressed that the first meeting of the Azerbaijan-U.S. Economic Dialogue would be held. In this context, it was stated that the visit of the delegation led by Caleb Orr provided a positive opportunity to discuss prospects for cooperation.
