Araghchi Sends Letter to UN Over Israeli Military Aggression Against Iran
Tehran, June 13 (Hibya) – Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi sent a letter to the President of the UN Security Council and the UN Secretary-General regarding Israel’s attacks on Iran.
He sent the letter following the deaths and injuries of numerous military commanders, university professors, and innocent Iranian women and children as a result of Israeli military attacks on military bases, nuclear facilities, and residential buildings in Iran.
In the letter, Araghchi emphasized that the attacks constituted a clear violation of Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity as an independent member of the UN, and were a blatant act of aggression.
He called on the UN Security Council to convene an urgent session: “The Council must fulfill its responsibilities under the UN Charter, strongly condemn the attack, and immediately take concrete measures to hold the Israeli regime accountable.”
The Minister also reaffirmed Iran’s determination to defend itself in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter.
