Officials reported that two children were killed in attacks on 12 areas in the Baalbek region.

The health ministry reported that 58 people were injured, and rescue operations are still ongoing in the valley, a Hezbollah stronghold.

Israel has carried out thousands of airstrikes across Lebanon over the past five weeks, targeting Hezbollah militants, infrastructure, and weapons.

Baalbek Governor Bachie Khodr described these attacks as the "most violent" since Israel escalated the conflict with Hezbollah last month.

An unverified video shared on social media showed damaged buildings and forests in flames as rescue teams searched for the injured.

Earlier on Monday, the Lebanese health ministry announced that seven people were killed and 17 injured in Israeli airstrikes on the coastal city of Tyre. Israel warned people to leave the city center.

Hezbollah stated that it clashed with Israeli forces on Lebanon's southern border on Monday and launched a rocket at an Israeli naval base near Haifa.

Cross-border hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah began after the armed Lebanese group started firing rockets into northern Israel on October 8, 2023, in support of Palestinians, a day after a deadly attack by the allied Palestinian Islamic Movement in southern Israel.

The Lebanese health ministry reports that more than 2,600 people have been killed and over 12,400 injured in Lebanon since then.

On September 30, Israel invaded southern Lebanon in a dramatic escalation, with "limited, local, targeted strikes" to destroy Hezbollah's weapons and infrastructure.

The Lebanese government states that nearly 1.3 million people have been internally displaced due to the conflict.
