Borrell: EU legislation inspired by California laws
Brussels, May 16 (Hibya) - European Union (EU) High Representative for Foreign Affairs Josep Borrell stated that EU legislation regarding climate action, digitalization, data privacy, or artificial intelligence is inspired by California laws.
EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs Borrell noted that the EU and California agree on many global challenges in climate and digital diplomacy, saying, "Sacramento is where the 'Brussels effect' meets the 'California effect'."
Borrell emphasized that EU legislation on climate action, digitalization, data privacy, or artificial intelligence is inspired by California laws and sets standards in the United States, stating, "Through our EU office in San Francisco, we ensure the flow of the best ideas in both directions."
