Budrys: EU enlargement is a long-term investment in defense and security
Vilnius, October 12 (Hibya) - Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kestutis Budrys said Europe’s security begins in Kyiv and stressed that progress should be made in the European Union (EU) accession process of Ukraine and Moldova. Budrys described the opening of all negotiating clusters as a shared goal.
Lithuanian Foreign Minister Budrys made a statement on Europe’s security and the European Union’s enlargement process.
Budrys argued that Ukraine contributes to Europe’s defense by deterring the military threat originating from Russia. Stating that Europe’s security begins in Kyiv, Budrys described the enlargement of the European Union as a long-term investment in defense and security.
Budrys said the shared goal is to open all negotiating clusters in the European Union membership process and advance the accession process of Ukraine and Moldova.
