Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian commented on the EU’s sanctions decision targeting several countries, including China, Türkiye and India, during a regular press briefing held today.
Lin Jian recalled that China has repeatedly made clear its firm opposition to illegal unilateral sanctions that have no basis in international law and are not authorized by the United Nations Security Council.
Spokesperson Lin emphasized that China has lodged serious representations with the EU on many occasions regarding this issue and urged the bloc to immediately correct its mistake and revoke the illegal unilateral sanctions decision.
Lin added that China will continue to closely monitor relevant developments and remains determined to take all necessary measures to protect its legitimate rights and interests.
