Deniz polisinden Adalar çevresinde 'deniz taksi' denetimi

A historically large-scale restructuring has begun in the Danish army. This week, about two thousand young people attended a presentation about the army’s activities at a military base in Skrydstrup.

A year ago, the Danish government announced its plan to extend military service from four to eleven months and, for the first time in its history, to expand it to include women. Now, Danish women are expected to begin military service starting next year.

The Danish government wants to strengthen its army but is facing the reality that many soldiers have decided to retire. Therefore, recruitment is necessary. This week, young people attending the military presentation enrolled in an eleven-month military service program, tested various military equipment, and had the opportunity to speak with those responsible for Denmark’s defense. Many are expected to choose military service as a lifelong career.

Danish Radio interviewed three young women on their first day of military service. Anna Laursen said she was initially unsure if she wanted to stay but began to seriously consider it. Astrid Nynne Karlsen noted that she had never experienced many things the army offers, while Sasha Chanel Dogo stated she was completely open to military service.

Jimmi Bratved, responsible for military registration, said that experience shows that about half of those participating in career orientation programs decide to stay in the army.

Bratved added that the global security situation and extensive rearmament mean that the army will receive new military equipment, requiring more trained personnel to operate it. Therefore, it is crucial that more people join the army full-time.
