EU Commission President von der Leyen condemns the Manchester attack
Brussels, October 2 (Hibya) – European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen condemned the attack on a synagogue in Manchester, United Kingdom.
Von der Leyen expressed her condolences to the families of the victims, the injured, and the Jewish community in the UK. She also said that she had conveyed her condolences to British Prime Minister Keir Starmer while in Copenhagen.
The EU Commission President stressed that the fact the attack occurred on Yom Kippur, the holiest day for Jews, made the incident even more serious. Von der Leyen stated: “We must continue to fight all forms of antisemitism.”
