FBI forms task force to investigate Tesla vandalism
Washington, March 25 (Hibya) – FBI Director Kash Patel announced Monday on the social media platform X that the FBI has formed a special task force to investigate attacks targeting Tesla electric vehicles.
Patel stated, “This is domestic terrorism.” He added, “Those responsible will be tracked, apprehended, and prosecuted.”
Recently, Tesla has been the target of multiple vandalism incidents, likely stemming from anger toward the company’s CEO, Elon Musk, a prominent figure in former President Trump’s administration.
Protesters have also gathered in front of many Tesla stores. Earlier this month, three individuals were arrested in three states for allegedly throwing Molotov cocktails at Teslas, stores, or company charging stations.
The new task force will operate under the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), part of the U.S. Department of Justice.
