Ghebreyesus: 17 sick children and 52 companions departed from Gaza to Italy
Geneva, June 11 (Hibya) – WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus announced that 17 sick children and 52 companions have departed from Gaza to Italy.
World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus stated that 17 sick children and 52 companions left Gaza on a flight to Italy, where the patients will receive medical treatment.
Expressing deep gratitude to the Italian government and healthcare workers for their support and services, Ghebreyesus said: “We hope that over 10,000 patients in Gaza who need urgent and specialized medical care will be swiftly evacuated through all possible routes, including the West Bank and East Jerusalem. WHO will continue to support medical evacuations to save lives.”
