Ghebreyesus: Antimicrobial resistance is a major threat to modern medicine
Geneva, September 30 (Hibya) – World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus stated that antimicrobial resistance is a major threat to modern medicine.
WHO Director-General Ghebreyesus explained that antimicrobial resistance is a significant threat to modern medicine and causes more than 1 million deaths each year.
Ghebreyesus said, "The world needs to accelerate actions and investments to protect societies from the growing threat of drug-resistant infections. To achieve this, countries must fulfill the commitments made at the United Nations General Assembly."
