Ghebreyesus reiterates call for ceasefire in Gaza
Geneva, June 3 (Hibya) - WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus reiterated his call for a ceasefire in Gaza, stating that all health facilities and staff must be urgently protected.
Ghebreyesus stated that the Noura Al-Kaabi Dialysis Center in northern Gaza is now a pile of rubble.
He noted that the destruction of this health facility directly endangers the lives of patients with kidney failure and added:
“Before the escalation of violence, the facility served 40 patients per week in northern Gaza. Last week, WHO removed 20 of the 23 dialysis machines to keep them safe.”
Ghebreyesus once again called for a ceasefire and emphasized the urgent need to protect all health facilities and personnel.
