Guterres: There is no excuse for Africa not having a permanent seat on the Security Council
New York, February 17 (Hibya) – United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Antonio Guterres stated that there is no justification for Africa still not having a permanent seat on the Security Council.
UN Secretary-General Guterres emphasized that Africa’s lack of permanent representation on the Security Council is unjustifiable, adding:
“I will continue to work with the African Union and all UN member states, including the two permanent members, to ensure the representation Africa needs.”
