Hamas Officials Arrive in Cairo for Gaza Ceasefire Talks
London, November 30 (Hibya) - According to Al Jazeera, Hamas officials arrived in Cairo, Egypt, for talks on a ceasefire in the Gaza war after a US official indicated that Israel had approved a framework for a temporary ceasefire and a swap of Israeli hostages for Palestinian detainees.
Hamas representatives arrived in Cairo on Sunday, but no Israeli delegation attended the talks mediated by Qatar, Egypt, and the US.
Israeli media reported that the delegation was not sent because Hamas refused to provide a list of living captives.
A senior Hamas official told Al Jazeera, "We are here to meet with our Egyptian and Qatari brothers. Whether the Israeli delegation comes to Cairo or not does not concern us."
A US official previously mentioned that Israel had accepted the framework for a ceasefire agreement to be discussed in Cairo.
