IDF: Air Force struck ready-to-launch missile platforms in western Iran
Jerusalem, June 14 (Hibya) – The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that the Air Force struck missile launchers in western Iran that were ready to be launched toward Israel’s interior regions.
According to a statement from the IDF, fighter jets and drones belonging to the Air Force destroyed dozens of missiles aimed at Israel before they could be launched from Iran.
“Air Force aircraft flying in Iranian airspace detected the missile launchers, quickly locked onto them and struck, thereby preventing future launches toward Israel’s interior,” the statement read.
The operation reportedly resulted in the deaths of the Head of the Intelligence Directorate of the Iranian Armed Forces General Staff and the commander responsible for the Revolutionary Guard’s ground-to-ground missile systems. “The Air Force and Military Intelligence Unit have neutralized more than 20 senior military commanders of the Iranian regime,” the statement added.
