IDF continues firefighting operations in affected areas
Jerusalem, May 1 (Hibya) – The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that operations continue at hotspots where fires have broken out.
According to the IDF statement, as of yesterday, the Rescue Brigade and forces from the Jerusalem and Central regions, in coordination with the Home Front Command and the Technology and Logistics Division, were deployed to the fire zones with approximately 50 fire trucks.
The statement added that overnight, dozens of fire vehicles across the country created firebreaks to prevent the flames from spreading to other areas. The IDF also dispatched tankers carrying around 300,000 liters of water, equipment, and food to support active teams.
Furthermore, the Air Force continues to assist with firefighting efforts. "The Air Force Intelligence Unit has formed a special collection team to study the fire zones and assist in locating fire areas and directing containment operations," the statement said.
