IDF says it killed Hamas commander
Jerusalem, July 21 (Hibya) – The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said that Asma Kamal Shahada Abu Tim, whom it identified as a commander in Hamas' military wing, was killed in a strike in the southern Gaza Strip. The IDF alleged that Abu Tim played a role in the abduction of several people from Kibbutz Nir Oz during the October 7 attacks.
The IDF announced that it had killed Asma Kamal Shahada Abu Tim, whom it identified as the commander of a cell in Hamas' military wing, in a strike carried out in the southern Gaza Strip.
In a statement, the IDF alleged that Abu Tim took part in the raid on Kibbutz Nir Oz during Hamas' October 7, 2023 attacks and was involved in the abduction of Nirit Cooper, Amiram Cooper, and Aleksandr Dancig.
The statement further claimed that throughout the war, including in recent months, Abu Tim had been involved in advancing plans for attacks against the Israeli military and Israeli civilians.
The IDF said that forces under its Southern Command remain deployed in the area and will continue operations aimed at "eliminating immediate threats."
