Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a phone call with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese to congratulate him on his election victory.

Modi stated, "I personally congratulated my friend Albanese on his party's historic victory. We agreed to work together with renewed energy to advance the India-Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and explore new areas of cooperation."

Albanese commented on the call, "Prime Minister Modi, thank you for your call and warm congratulations. The relationship between Australia and India has never been stronger. I look forward to working with you to build a prosperous future for our region in the years ahead."
