Iran condemns new U.S. sanctions
Tehran, May 1 (Hibya) – Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei strongly condemned the new U.S. sanctions imposed on individuals and entities in Iran and other countries.
Referring to what he called unlawful U.S. policies against the Iranian people, Baghaei described the sanctions as a violation of fundamental principles and rules of international law, including human rights standards.
He added that the recently announced sanctions, imposed under various pretexts on Iranian and foreign individuals and companies, are clear evidence of the U.S. politicians’ ongoing lawlessness and attempts to undermine legitimate and friendly relations among developing nations.
Baghaei stressed that the destructive consequences and outcomes stemming from the U.S.’s unbalanced behavior and provocative statements regarding Iran are the sole responsibility of the American side.
Recalling the U.S.’s long-standing record of hostility toward the Iranian people, he said this approach has created deep mistrust and suspicion of the U.S. among Iranians.
