Iran's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Amir Saeed Iravani, made a statement at the UN Security Council regarding Israel's attacks on Iran.

Iravani's speech was as follows:

"The majority of the victims were women and children. Israel targeted civilians in its barbaric attacks. Furthermore, it deliberately and systematically targeted many civilian and military sites in its attacks on Iran. These crimes are both illegal and inhumane."

"These calculated and premeditated attacks are violations of international law and the actions of a terrorist state."

"The inaction of the UN, the Security Council, and the International Atomic Energy Agency in response to all of Iran’s warnings, their tolerance of Israel’s attacks, and silence in the face of Israel’s provocations have emboldened this rogue regime."

"Israel’s attack on nuclear facilities ignores not only the fundamental principles of international law but also common sense and conscience. A radiation disaster in the region will not be limited to Iran and will lead to a regional catastrophe."

"The Non-Proliferation Treaty, the Geneva Convention, and many UN Security Council resolutions prohibit attacks on nuclear facilities."
