Islam-critical party makes big gains in Dutch EP elections
Stockholm, June 7 (Hibya) - The right-wing PVV party significantly advanced in yesterday's European Parliament elections in the Netherlands, according to the latest exit poll.
According to a new exit poll, the party now holds seven of the Netherlands' 31 seats. The party did not win any seats in the previous EP elections.
The party is led by prominent and controversial Islam critic Geert Wilders and was the largest party in the Dutch elections in November.
On the other hand, the right-wing Forum voor Democratie party dropped from four to zero MPs in the exit poll.
The red-green coalition has eight deputies.
According to Politico, Wilders has focused on making the EU elections a choice between himself and former EU climate chief Frans Timmermans.
