Israel claims to have struck Iranian Quds Force command centers
Stockholm, June 16 (Hibya) – According to a statement from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), Israeli Air Force fighter jets struck command centers belonging to the Quds Force, a covert unit of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
An IDF spokesperson said: “In these command centers, Quds Force operatives were planning terrorist attacks against the State of Israel using the Iranian regime’s proxies in the Middle East.”
A video released by the IDF stated that the 10 locations struck in Tehran were Quds Force and military targets.
The Quds Force was established in the 1980s during the Iran–Iraq War as a special intelligence unit within the IRGC. It is considered to play a leading role in Iran’s relationships with armed groups in Afghanistan, Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, and the Gaza Strip, including Hezbollah and Hamas.
