Israeli Foreign Minister Yisrael Katz was appointed as Defense Minister by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Katz stated that he accepted this responsibility with a sense of mission and sacred duty for the security of the State of Israel and its citizens.

"By working together, we will strengthen our security system and achieve the war objectives: returning all hostages and prisoners, eliminating Hamas in Gaza, defeating Hezbollah in Lebanon, stopping Iran’s aggression, and ensuring the safe return of residents in the northern and southern regions to their homes."
