Italian Prime Minister Meloni: Parliament approved the 2025 budget law
Brussels, December 28 (Hibya) - Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni stated that Parliament approved the 2025 budget law, which is the third since her government took office.
Meloni emphasized that the 2025 budget law approved by Parliament is "a significant balancing act that supports middle- and low-income citizens, helps families with children, allocates record resources to healthcare, reduces the tax burden, and supports those who produce, create jobs, and generate welfare."
She explained that limited resources were used to strengthen key measures implemented in recent years, making some of them structural and broader, starting with reducing the tax wedge. She added:
"We continue to support the birth rate and women's employment, while intervening to assist companies that invest, strengthen their resilience, and enhance competitiveness. Let us keep our accounts in order without deviating from the program we promised Italians, intensify our determination to combat real tax evasion, and lay the foundations for a new relationship between the state and its citizens."
