Joe Biden, After Israel's Attack on Iran: I Hope This is the Last
Stockholm, October 27 (Hibya) - U.S. President Joe Biden, after receiving a briefing from security advisors, told reporters, "It appears they only targeted military objectives. I hope this is the last one."
Joe Biden also confirmed that he had been informed in advance about the attack.
The world holds its breath, hoping that the parties will calm down and avoid further hostilities after Israeli planes targeted Iranian positions on Saturday night.
The attack was Israel's response to the launch of about 200 missiles from Iran towards Israeli cities on October 1, with four soldiers killed, according to the Iranian Revolutionary Guards.
However, most observers describe the attack as "limited," noting that neither side wants a major war in a region where Israel is already engaged in conflicts with Hamas in Gaza and Hezbollah in Lebanon.
Thus, Israel appears to have refrained from striking Iran’s oil industry or nuclear facilities.
Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu denied reports that Israel refrained from attacking Iran’s oil and gas facilities due to U.S. pressure.
Netanyahu stated from the Prime Minister's Office: "Israel chooses its attack targets based on national interests, not American dictates. It has been this way and will always remain so."
