Khamenei: It would be wrong to say the Israeli attack is insignificant
Stockholm, October 27 (Hibya) – Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei publicly commented for the first time since Israeli airstrikes against his country. He said that Israel's attack on Iran this weekend "should neither be exaggerated nor underestimated," but refrained from calling for retaliation.
According to IRNA, in a meeting with the families of four armed forces members who died in the attack, Khamenei described Israel's airstrikes as "malicious" and said, "The evil committed by the Zionist regime (Israel) two nights ago should neither be minimized nor exaggerated."
Khamenei also said: "The Zionist regime's miscalculation should be corrected. They do not know Iran, its youth, and its nation. They have yet to fully grasp the power, capabilities, initiative, and will of the Iranian nation, and we must make them understand this."
Khamenei added that Israel is trying to exaggerate the impact of its airstrikes and stated, "It would be wrong for us to say that this means nothing and is unimportant."
