Lazzarini: Dystopian "Hunger Games" cannot become the new reality
New York, June 12 (Hibya) – Philippe Lazzarini, Commissioner-General of UNRWA, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East, said that dystopian "hunger games" cannot become the new reality.
Lazzarini stated that the so-called new way of delivering aid in Gaza is humiliating, degrading, and life-threatening, and that this model will not address the deepening hunger.
He said, “Dystopian 'hunger games' cannot be the new reality. The UN, including UNRWA, has the knowledge, expertise, and community trust to deliver aid with dignity and safety. Just let humanitarian workers do their jobs.”
