Lebanon Ceasefire Fragile: Israel Launches New Airstrikes on Lebanon
Stockholm, December 3 (Hibya) - Local health officials in Gaza reported that at least 14 Palestinians were killed in Israeli attacks, while Israel launched new airstrikes on Lebanon.
The Israeli Air Force claimed in a statement that it struck a "terrorist cell" in Lebanon's Bekaa region. On Monday, Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri accused Israel of violating the ceasefire agreement, which came into effect on November 27, more than 50 times. Israel denied the allegations.
Most of the reported 14 deaths in Gaza occurred in attacks on Beit Lahiya in the northern region. The Israeli army issued new mandatory evacuation orders in Khan Yunis, citing rockets fired from the area.
Israel claimed in a statement that it killed seven Hamas members involved in an attack in southern Israel on October 7, 2023. These claims have not been independently verified.
Meanwhile, reports emerged of an Israeli strike on a vehicle near Damascus International Airport in Syria. Clashes were also reported in Deir ez-Zor province between Bashar al-Assad's government forces and Kurdish SDF forces. According to UNICEF, renewed violence in the country has displaced more than 45,000 people.
Reports indicated that the foreign ministers of Iran, Turkey, and Russia agreed to meet over the weekend in Doha, Qatar, to discuss the Syrian crisis.
