Leyen: Firefighting planes from 4 countries dispatched to assist Israel
Brussels, May 1 (Hibya) – European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen stated that firefighting planes from Greece, Cyprus, Croatia, and Italy have been sent to help fight wildfires in Israel.
Von der Leyen said the EU is supporting efforts to combat the devastating fires in Israel and added, “We have activated our EU Civil Protection Mechanism.”
She noted that firefighting planes were dispatched from Greece, Cyprus, Croatia, and Italy to assist in extinguishing the fires, adding: “This is EU solidarity in action.”
