Leyen: This summer, the EU fleet is ready to fight forest fires
Brussels, July 30 (Hibya) - European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced that this summer, an EU fleet consisting of 556 firefighters from 12 countries, 28 aircraft and four helicopters is ready to fight forest fires.
European Commission President Leyen thanked France and Greece for helping Bulgaria with forest fires through the EU Civil Protection Mechanism, stating: "This is EU solidarity in action."
Leyen stated that this summer, an EU fleet of 556 firefighters from 12 countries, 28 aircraft and four helicopters is ready to fight forest fires.
