Macron: France remembers the horrific tragedy of the Indian Ocean tsunami
Paris, December 26 (Hibya) - French President Emmanuel Macron issued a message on the anniversary of the Indian Ocean tsunami caused by the earthquake on December 26, 2004.
French President Macron stated that 20 years later, France remembers the horrific tragedy of the Indian Ocean tsunami, saying: “On this day, our thoughts are with the families of the victims. The solidarity that followed continues to be a symbol of hope and humanity.”
The tsunami caused by a 9.1 magnitude earthquake in the Indian Ocean on December 26, 2004, claimed the lives of approximately 230,000 people.
