French President Emmanuel Macron announced that he is going to the United Kingdom for a state visit and then a French-British summit.

Macron stated that the United Kingdom is a strategic partner, an ally, and a friend, saying:

"We will jointly address the great challenges of our time: security, defense, nuclear energy, space, innovation, artificial intelligence, migration, and culture. Each of these areas requires joint action and aims to deepen our cooperation in a concrete, effective, and lasting way. This is also a meaningful moment for our Europe. The United Kingdom's stated will to strengthen ties with the European Union is a strong message — and I welcome it. This will also brings a shared responsibility to explore new avenues of cooperation that respect our common interests."
