Media: Finland seizes five more Russian properties
Helsinki, October 29 (Hibya) - According to the Helsingin Sanomat newspaper, Finnish authorities have seized at least five more properties belonging to Russia.
The report stated, "Helsingin Sanomat managed to find five more Russian properties that have been subjected to measures." Three of them are located in the Åland Islands, and two in Helsinki: a residential building in the Töölö area and an office building on Lauttasaari island.
The newspaper previously reported that all transactions related to Russian state properties were frozen following a lawsuit filed by a Ukrainian energy company. Since October 24, a 3,326-square-meter plot in Helsinki, where the Russian Science and Culture Center is located, has also been seized.
Finnish authorities seized the land and building of the Russian Science and Culture Center on April 18 last year due to EU sanctions, but this temporary measure was lifted the next day. Helsinki announced it found no grounds for the property seizure.
As Russian Ambassador to Helsinki Pavel Kuznetsov pointed out, relations between Russia and Finland are now completely deteriorated.
Moscow also described the Nordic country's decision to join NATO as a meaningless step.
