Minister Kacır: Turkey's second astronaut preparing for duty
Ankara, May 8 (Hibya) - Turkey's Minister of Industry and Technology, Mehmet Fatih Kacır, announced that Turkey's second astronaut, Tuva Cihangir Atasever, is preparing for duty. Kacır stated that Atasever will perform her first flight on June 8th.
Minister Kacır, stating that Turkey's second astronaut Atasever is preparing for duty, said, "We shared the details of the 'Orbit Research Mission' with our press members and our people, along with Turkey's astronauts Alper Gezeravcı and Tuva Cihangir Atasever."
The Minister continued, explaining that the results of 13 experiments conducted by Alper Gezeravcı on the International Space Station have been analyzed by universities and research institutions, and based on the collected data, scientific research is ongoing. Kacır added:
"Under the agreements made at the beginning of the Turkish Astronaut and Scientific Mission Project, and at no additional cost, following agreements, our second citizen who crosses the space border and contributes to scientific research in low-gravity conditions will be Tuva Cihangir Atasever."
