Moscow Domodedovo Airport closed to traffic for an hour and a half
Moscow, May 5 (Hibya) – Moscow’s Domodedovo Airport was closed to air traffic for approximately an hour and a half due to four Ukrainian drones flying toward the city.
In a statement from the Russian Federal Air Transport Agency, it was said: “Temporary restrictions were imposed on the operation of Domodedovo Airport at 2:38 a.m. Moscow time. The airport is temporarily not accepting or dispatching flights.”
It was later announced that the restrictions at the airport were lifted at 04:00. The agency stated that the restrictions were implemented to ensure the safety of civilian aircraft operations.
In the early hours of Monday, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced that air defense systems in the Podolsk city district repelled an attack by four drones flying toward Moscow.
