NASA Launches New Climate Mission to Study Ocean and Atmosphere
The United States National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has launched a satellite mission to study the state of the ocean, air quality, and the impact of climate change on human well-being.
The Plankton, Aerosol, Climate, Ocean Ecosystem (PACE) satellite was launched into orbit from the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida using a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket. NASA confirmed receiving signals from the satellite approximately five minutes after launch.
With a combination of instruments and polarimeters, PACE will provide insights into the interactions between the ocean and atmosphere, as well as how climate change affects these interactions.
