Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a meeting with Sheikh Muwafaq Tarif, the spiritual leader of Israel’s Druze community.

Regarding the meeting, Netanyahu stated:

"The Sheikh thanked me for the decisive operation we carried out last night against the Presidential Palace compound in Damascus. This operation was intended to send a clear message to the Syrian regime: Israel is determined to protect the Druze in Syria. We will not allow any attacks against them and will continue to act decisively against such attempts. The Sheikh agreed with me, condemned isolated incidents of violence within the community, and clearly expressed the community leadership’s commitment to maintaining law and order in Israel."
