Orban: NATO is moving away from its original purpose, acting more like a war organisation
Stockholm, July 11 (Hibya) - "NATO was founded 75 years ago to protect the security of its members, but today it is moving away from its original purpose, acting more and more like a war organization," the Hungarian Prime Minister said.
In a video post on X, Viktor Orban said NATO's increasing role in the Ukraine conflict is dangerous and even irresponsible.
"One of the signs is that NATO is increasingly active in the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. In our opinion, this is dangerous and even irresponsible because nobody can see how it will end or where we will end up," Orban said.
Orban said he would "advocate that NATO should return to its original spirit". He added that the alliance "must win peace, not the wars that are going on around it." Orban reiterated that Hungary will not participate in the NATO-Ukraine mission but will fully comply with its obligations to the allies.
