Palestinian Cabinet announces rejection of Israel's aid distribution mechanisms
Ramallah, May 6 (Hibya) – The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates announced its firm rejection of Israel’s proposals to impose alternative aid distribution mechanisms in the Gaza Strip.
According to the statement from the ministry, it also rejected all measures aimed at undermining, sidelining, or ignoring the authority and vital role of UNRWA (United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees) and Palestinian national institutions.
The Cabinet welcomed the principled positions of UN agencies and humanitarian organizations that opposed Israel's proposed plans, and called for increased international pressure to immediately open border crossings to allow the unimpeded entry of life-saving humanitarian aid into Gaza.
